Important Instructions for Candidates:
The Union Public Service Commission has issued several important instructions in the official notification for the CAPF (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2026. All candidates must carefully read and follow these guidelines to avoid rejection of application or disqualification at any stage of the examination.
1. Ensure Eligibility Before Applying
Candidates must ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions such as age limit, educational qualification, nationality, and physical standards before submitting the application. Admission at every stage of the examination is purely provisional. The Commission verifies original documents only after a candidate qualifies for the Interview/Personality Test. Mere issuance of e-Admit Card does not confirm final eligibility.
2. Online Application Only
Applications must be submitted only through the official UPSC online portal (https://upsconline.nic.in). No other mode of application is accepted. Candidates must first complete the Universal Registration Number (URN) process, then fill the Common Application Form (CAF), and finally the Examination Specific Module. Incomplete applications or failure to upload required documents will result in cancellation of candidature.
3. One-Time Edit Facility
UPSC provides a one-time facility to update the URN profile. However, any changes made in the URN will not reflect in applications already submitted. Candidates must re-check all details carefully before final submission because no correction or modification is allowed after submission.
4. Live Photo and Signature Upload
Candidates must upload a recent photograph and also capture a live photo during application filling. The image must be clear as per instructions. They must sign three times on plain white paper using black ink and upload the scanned copy. Incorrect or unclear uploads may lead to rejection.
5. Application Withdrawal Not Allowed
Once the application is submitted, withdrawal is not permitted. No changes or edits can be made after final submission.
6. Examination Centre Allotment
Centres are allotted on a “first-apply-first-allot” basis. Once the capacity of a centre is full, it will not be available for selection. Candidates are advised to apply early to get their preferred centre. Requests for change of centre will not be entertained under any circumstances.
7. e-Admit Card
Admit cards will be available online on the official website. No admit card will be sent by post or email. Candidates must download and print it. They must carry a valid photo ID such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving License to the exam centre.
8. Negative Marking
There is a penalty for wrong answers in the objective-type Paper I. One-third (0.33) marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer. No penalty is applied for unanswered questions.
9. Use of Black Ball Pen
Candidates must use only a black ballpoint pen for marking OMR answer sheets and writing details. Any error in encoding roll number or booklet series may result in rejection of the answer sheet.
10. Strict Prohibition of Electronic Devices
Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, pagers, and any electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall, even if switched off. Violation may lead to disqualification and debarment from future examinations.
11. Face Authentication
Candidates must undergo mandatory face authentication and identity verification at the examination venue. They must report at least 30 minutes before the commencement of each session. Late entry will not be allowed.
12. Fair Conduct and Discipline
Any use of unfair means, impersonation, submission of fake documents, or misbehavior in the examination hall will result in strict disciplinary action under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. Candidates may be permanently debarred from UPSC examinations.
13. Document Verification After Written Exam
Candidates who qualify the written examination must upload educational and category certificates within the specified time window. Failure to do so will disqualify them from further stages like PST/PET.
