Eligibility Criteria

To apply for Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2027, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility requirements.

Nationality:-

Candidate must be an Indian citizen as per Government of India rules.

Age Limit:-

Generally between 02/01/2002 to 01/07/2007

(dates vary slightly by specific entry, e.g., Pilot/NAOO is 02/01/2003 to 01/07/2008).

Age Relaxation:-

NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders may receive up to 5% relaxation in SSB shortlisting criteria
Relaxation is as per Indian Navy rules
No age relaxation beyond the prescribed date of birth range

Educational Qualification:-

Executive Branch

General Service (GS-X) / Hydro: BE/B.Tech in any discipline from an AICTE-recognised institute with minimum 60% marks.

Pilot / Observer / ATC: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with at least 60% marks. Candidates must also have scored 60% in Class 10 and 12, including 60% in English.

Logistics:

BE/B.Tech in any discipline (First Class).
OR MBA (First Class).
OR B.Sc / B.Com / B.Sc(IT) (First Class) plus a PG Diploma in Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Material Management.
OR MCA / M.Sc(IT) (First Class).

Technical Branch

Engineering Branch (GS): BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Mechanical, Marine, Instrumentation, Production, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering.
Electrical Branch (GS): BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
Submarine Tech: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Control, Aeronautical, or Industrial Engineering for Engineering; Electrical, Electronics, or Control Engineering for Electrical.

Education Branch

Candidates must have scored 60% in Class 10 and 12, with 60% in English. Degree requirements include:

Science & Humanities: M.Sc. (Physics/Applied Physics) with Maths in B.Sc. OR M.Sc. (Maths/Operational Research) with Physics in B.Sc. (First Class).
Arts: MA in History or English with minimum 55% marks.
Technical: BE/B.Tech with 60% marks in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Communication.

Submarine Branch

BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation
Only male candidates eligible

Salary and Tenure

Rank: Commissioned as Sub Lieutenant.
Starting Salary: Approximately ₹1,25,000 per month (Gross), including various allowances.
Tenure: Initially for 10 years, extendable by a maximum of 4 years (2+2) based on performance and service requirements.

Selection Process

The selection is purely based on merit and does not involve an initial written entrance exam for most entries.

Shortlisting: Based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
