Engagement of 4116 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 over Northern Railway.

ONLINE applications are invited from ELIGIBLE and desirous candidates for engagement of
Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 for imparting training at various
Divisions/Units/Workshops over Northern Railway. Imparting Training in Railway will not confer
any right to the candidates for their absorption in Railway after successful completion of training.
It shall not be obligatory on the part of the employer to offer any employment to the Apprentice
on completion of period of his/her apprenticeship training in his/her establishment. It shall not be
obligatory on the part of the apprentice to accept an employment under the employer.

Details of Trade:-

The details of Trade wise and Division/Workshop wise, number of Applicants to be engaged
for training as Act Apprentices along with the break-up of reservation for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories and for PwBD’s/Ex-servicemen are furnished in

Age Limit:

The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24
years of age as on 24.12.2025

Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years in case SC/ST candidates, 3 years in case of ОВС
candidates.

For Persons with Disability, upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.

APPLICATION FEE (NON REFUNDABLE) Rs. 100/-

Application fee Rs 100/- is to be paid through ONLINE Mode as part of online
application process.

Payment Mode : Cash/Cheque/Money order/IPO/Demand Draft/

No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates.

MODE OF SELECTION:

The procedure for engagement of candidate will be as
under:-

Screening & Scrutiny of the application. There will be no written test of viva.

Selection of Act Apprentices is to be made on the basis of merit prepared taking the
average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidate in both
Matriculation/SSC/10th (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) & ITI examination giving
equal weightage to both.

Locomotor Disablity (LD)

TRADES	MAXIMUM EXTENT OF DISABILITY
Fitter/Turner	Lower limb partially damaged from one side can be accommodated.
Welder(G&E)	A person without leg and without three finger of one hand can be accommodated.
Electrician	Partially lower limb candidate can be accommodated.
Machinist	Only small finger damaged can join
Painter (General) Carpenter	Once upper & lower limb partially damaged.

Education :

Candidates to note that all relevant certificates of education i.e.
SSC/Matriculation/10th Pass & ITI trade certificate issued by
NCVT/SCVT with the mark Sheets

• Community, Category, Mobile no., Email ID & Date of Birth and
• Register. On successful registration candidate will get Password for login subsequently
• on given Email ID & by SMS on registered Mobile Number.
