The UP Police Constable Notification 2026 has been officially released by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on 31st December 2025 for a massive 32,679 Constable vacancies across various battalions and units in Uttar Pradesh. UP Police Constable Eligibility Criteria 2026
The UP Police Constable eligibility criteria is specified in the official notification, listing the important conditions that need to be fulfilled by the candidates willing to apply for the post of Constable in UP Police. Educational Qualification :-
As per the latest eligibility criteria announced by UPPRPB, candidates must have passed the class 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board to be eligible to apply.
Age Limit :-
The age limit for the unreserved candidates is 18 to 22 years for male and 18 to 25 years for female candidates.
However, there is relaxation given in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories. The upper age limit for SC, ST and OBC male candidates is 18 to 31 years and for female candidates belonging to these categories is 18 to 34 years.
The candidates must also meet the prescribed physical standards for height, chest measurement and weight. They are also required to pass the physical efficiency test during the selection process. Only citizens of India or persons with the defined categories of foreign citizenship can apply for the UP Police Constable post. Fulfilling these eligibility conditions is mandatory for the candidates to be considered for further selection process.
UP Police Constable Salary & Job Profile 2026
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board determines the salary and other allowances for UP Police Constables. As per the 7th pay commission, the yearly Salary of a UP constable is approximately Rs. 260,400. The monthly basic salary is Rs. 21,700/–. Constables are also entitled to receive various allowances like Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Medical Allowance etc.

Step 1: Register Online on UPPRPB Website
Visit the official website of the UP Police and click on the registration link which is available on the homepage. Click on the link to apply for UP Police Constable Recruitment. Click on ‘New Registration’ and register yourself by providing the required details.
In this first stage of registration, candidates need to fill in details such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, DOB, Gender, marital status, category, AADHAR No. and communication information like address, mobile no., e-mail ID, Educational Qualification, preferential qualification and address.
Step 2: Login & OTP Activation
After entering the required details click on ‘Next’ button to see a preview of the details entered for verification. Once submitted the registration number will be generated and OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
Step 3: Fill Out UP Police Constable Application Form
Once the candidates have generated an OTP, they can activate his/her application by using the “Activate through OTP” option in the portal. The candidate can proceed further after the activation of application. Login with the credentials provided during registration. Enter all the required details in the UP Police Constable application form.
Step 4: Pay UP Constable Application Fee
Pay the required application fee as per your category. Payment can be done only through SBI Payment Gateway. There is no refund for candidates who make multiple payments. After completion of payment, the Registration number will be generated and the candidate can take print of his application.
Step 5: Upload Required Documents
After successful completion of payment, candidate must login and upload scanned copy of his/ her photo, signature and applicable documents and complete the registration process Candidate should take print of the knowledgement (Application) and keep it for all future references. UP Police Constable Selection Process 2026
The UP Police Constable selection process consists of five stages – Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test (PMT)/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, Medical Examination, and Final Merit List. Candidates who clear all the stages will be selected for the post. The selection process of the UP Police Constable is given below –
Stage 1 – Written Examination
This is the preliminary exam consisting of objective type questions to test the candidate’s knowledge in various subjects. Only those who clear this exam will be eligible for the next round.
Stage 2 – PMT/ PET Tests

Stage 3 – Document Verification
