Prelims Syllabus:-
General Studies Paper I:
- Current events of national and international importance
- History of India and the Indian National Movement
- Geography of India and the world
- Indian polity and governance
- Economic and social development
- Environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change
- General science
General Studies Paper II (CSAT):–
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision making and problem solving
- General mental ability
- Basic numeracy and data interpretation
Mains Syllabus :-
- Qualifying Papers:
- Odia Language: comprehension, précis writing, short essays, grammar, and vocabulary
- English Language: comprehension, précis writing, short essays, grammar, and vocabulary
- Papers Counted for Merit:
- Essay: essays on multiple topics
- General Studies I: Indian heritage and culture, history, and geography of India and the world
- General Studies II: governance, constitution, polity, and inter-state relations
- General Studies III :- technology, economic development, bio-diversity, and environment, Security and disaster management
- General Studies IV: ethics, integrity, and aptitude
- Optional Subject Papers: candidates can choose one subject from a list of optional subjects
Optional Subject:-
- There are 47 optional subjects, including literature, public administration, law, sociology, political science, and more
Exam Pattern :-
Prelims :-
two objective-type papers (General Studies I and II) with 200 marks each
Mains :-
nine descriptive papers, including two qualifying papers (Odia and English) and seven papers counted for merit
Interview :-
personality test and assessment of intellectual and personal qualities
Selection Process:-
- Prelims: qualifying examination
- Mains: marks counted for final merit
- Interview: final stage of selection
