OPSC OAS 2026:
The OPSC OCS 2026 Notification has been released @opsc.gov.in. The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced 314 vacancies for recruitment through the Odisha Civil Services Examination 2025. Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship: A candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above the age of 42 years as on 1st January 2025; he/she must not have been born earlier than 2nd January 1983 and not later than 1st January 2004. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Ex-Servicemen and by 10 years for PwD with permanent disability of 40% or more, with cumulative benefit for PwD of SC/ST/SEBC categories.
- Educational Qualification (Essential): A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or a State Legislature in India or an Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or deemed to be a University under Section-3 of the UGC Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.
- Odia Language Requirement: The candidate must be able to read, write and speak Odia and must have passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject OR passed High School Certificate or equivalent examination with Odia as medium of examination in non-language subjects OR passed Odia as a language subject in final examination of Class-VII from a recognised school OR passed a test in Odia in Middle English School standard conducted by the Government of Odisha.
- Marital Status Condition: A candidate who has more than one spouse living or, in case of a woman candidate, is married to a person having one spouse living, shall not be eligible unless exempted by the State Government.
- Government Servants: Government servants (temporary or permanent) are eligible, provided they possess requisite qualifications and are within the prescribed age limit and obtain No Objection Certificate from the competent authority.
- Character & Health: A candidate must have good moral character and be of sound mental and physical health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the discharge of duties.

- For Odisha Police Service, Group-A (Junior Branch) – Group-A Service: Rs. 56,100/- in Level-12, Cell-1 in the Pay Matrix under Rule-3 of ORSP Rules, 2017.
- For Group-B Services (Odisha Taxation & Accounts Service, Odisha Co-operative Service, Odisha Skill Development & Employment Service, Odisha Labour Service, Odisha Excise Service, Odisha Tourism Service): Rs. 44,900/- in Level-10, Cell-1 in the Pay Matrix under Rule-3 of ORSP Rules, 2017.
Odisha Civil Service Apply Online 2026
The Odisha Civil Service Application Form will be available @opsc.gov.in from 20th January 2026. Candidates can register by 20th February 2026 and the last date to submit the OCS Application Form is 27th February 2026. The OPSC Civil Service application process includes online registration, filling the application, uploading documents, and fee payment. Candidates who wish to participate in the exam can apply online by following the steps mentioned below. Make sure you fill out the form completely and correctly. Any incomplete applications will be rejected.
Step 1: Visit the OPSC website. Go to the application page .
Read the instructions and click ‘OK’ to proceed.
Step 2: Click on ‘New Registration’ if you are not registered and complete the registration.
Step 3: Log in using the credentials obtained after registration.
Step 4: Fill out the OPSC Odisha OCS Application Form 2026 carefully. Review the details entered and proceed.
Step 5. Upload the required documents like your photograph and signature.
Step 6: Pay the Examination Fee
Step 7: Submit the application form, and save a copy of the form for reference.
OPSC OCS Application Fee
To apply for the OPSC OCS Exam, candidates need to pay an application fee of INR 700 through online mode. The fee will be refunded to those applicants who appear for both papers of the OCS Prelims. Also, SC, ST and PWD candidates are exempted from fee payment.
Selection Process
The OPSC Odisha OCS Selection Process is curated to shortlist the most eligible candidates for the said posts. The selection is through a three-stage process – Prelims, Mains, and Interview.
- Prelims: It is an objective-type examination and is only qualifying in nature. The exam has two papers of 200 marks each. It is a qualifying examination.
- Mains: It comprises descriptive-type questions. The Mains Exam will have 9 papers for a total of 1750 marks. Its marks will be counted for selection.
- Interview: It is an oral examination and a personality test for 250 marks. Its marks are counted for merit. The candidate’s technical knowledge, personality, and aptitude are tested during the interview. Marks of the interview are considered for the merit.

General Instructions
- The provisions of the Odisha Conduct of Examinations Act, 1988 are applicable; any violation or malpractice will attract disciplinary action and possible criminal prosecution.
- Penalty provisions under Rule-18 of Odisha Civil Services Combined Competitive Recruitment Examination Rules, 1991 shall apply.
- Reservation and relaxation benefits for SC, ST and SEBC are admissible only to those categories of Odisha.
- Community/caste status once mentioned in the online application shall be treated as final and cannot be changed later.
- The advertisement does not bind the Government to make appointment; the number of vacancies is subject to change without notice depending on public service requirements.
- Misrepresentation or suppression of information in the online application will result in cancellation of candidature and penalty as decided by the Commission.
- Mere empanelment in the select list does not confer any right to appointment unless the Government is satisfied about suitability after necessary enquiry.
- No request for withdrawal of candidature or change of category will be entertained.
- Candidates must carefully fill service/post preference; change of preference after submission of online application will not be allowed.
- Candidates must answer papers in their own handwriting; only PwD candidates with specified disabilities may use a scribe as per rules.
